What is a hotel takeover?
A hotel takeover is when an entire hotel or resort is booked by one private group, so everyone on the property is part of the same event.
What is a lifestyle or swingers hotel takeover?
At a swingers or lifestyle hotel takeover, that group is open-minded couples. The pool can go clothing-optional, the bar turns into a mixer and designated rooms become playrooms. Everyone around you chose to be there, and nobody is there to stare. At every Libertine takeover, security is on site 24 hours a day, so no outside looky-loos get in.
Participation is always optional. Plenty of couples come for the parties, the sun and the people, and set their own pace from there.

Every room is ours. No outside guests anywhere on property, so the whole hotel becomes the party. Our Miami and Cap d'Agde takeovers are both full buyouts.
Partial takeover
A block of rooms and private event spaces inside a hotel that stays open to others. More choice of venue, a little less freedom.
Floor takeover
The hosts take over a single floor of a hotel. Private hallways and room parties, but shared lobbies, pools and bars.
Lifestyle resort or cruise

Most couples feel a mix of excitement and nerves before their first takeover. That's normal, and it's exactly who we design these events for. A lot of our guests are at their very first lifestyle event.

Agree on your boundaries before you arrive. Then relax. It's a holiday first.

Do we need experience?
No. You just need to be a respectful, open-minded couple who's curious about the lifestyle.
Do we have to do anything?
Never. Nothing is expected. Some couples mostly enjoy the pool, the parties and the people, and that's a great takeover too.
What are the ground rules?

Cate, Mickey & Mallory
Cate founded Libertine Events in 2017 to create consent-first, inclusive spaces for the non-monogamous community. Mickey and Mallory have hosted alongside her since 2021, and you'll find all three at the pool bar, on the dance floor and making introductions all weekend.

What is a swingers hotel takeover?
An adults-only event where a hotel is reserved for a private community of open-minded couples, with themed parties, clothing-optional spaces and playrooms. Participation is always optional.
Is it just about sex?
No. It's a social holiday first. Many guests come for the pool parties, theme nights and community, and you're always in control of your own experience.
How much does a hotel takeover cost?
It depends on the destination and room. Miami 2027 starts at $1,800 per couple for four days in South Beach. Cap d'Agde 2027 rooms run €3,300 to €5,500 for two people for seven nights.
Who can attend? Are singles allowed?
Our hotel takeovers are for couples, throuples and polyquads. Singles aren't admitted to the takeovers themselves, though some of our smaller events, like club takeovers and VIP dinners, may welcome singles. Each event page says who can book.
Is it clothing-optional?
Yes. Miami has daily clothing-optional pool parties, and in Cap d'Agde the whole naturist village and our resort are clothing-optional. Getting naked is never required.
Are there playrooms?
Miami has dedicated playrooms reserved for registered guests. Each event page explains what's on site.
How many people attend?
Miami welcomes around 250 guests and Scottsdale 2026 welcomed 450. Cap d'Agde brings around 100 Libertine guests to Le Vibes Resort, in a naturist village that welcomes up to 40,000 visitors in summer.
Is a takeover good for first-timers?
Yes. It's one of the easiest ways to start: a friendly crowd, hosts who help with introductions and no pressure to do anything.
What's the difference between a full and partial takeover?
In a full takeover every room belongs to the event. In a partial takeover the group has a block of rooms and private spaces while the hotel stays open to others. A floor takeover reserves a single floor.
What is a hotel takeover party?
It's the party side of a hotel takeover: themed nights, pool parties and playrooms, held inside a hotel reserved for the event. Because every guest is part of the event, the party can spill across the whole property instead of one ballroom.
